Putting together lots of gear for a belay |
Richard on damp rock |
Day one of two days rock climbing with Paul and team who where up from Edinburgh looking to improve rope work and skills in preparation from the rather speedy approach to the spring and rock climbing season.
We headed down into a rather wet Glen Nevis, the rock was very green and slippy. We headed to Pinnacle to look at some belays anchors. We had a spell on South West I slipped my way up Tear which is rather polished now add in some water and trainers and its fairly precarious.
We then headed down to look at some abseils and ways to retreat.
Up on the tops certainly in the mamores I saw no snow at all. Driving through Glen Coe yesterday it was reserved to the tops and Gullys with some large patches in Stob Coire Nan Lochan.
Fingers crossed that things dry up a little next week which if the forecast is correct may happen.
