Meall a Bhuiridh, Glen Coe

Dad skinning onto Meall a Bhruiridh, this image was perhaps lucky and might not give a realistic impression of the cover!!

Dad and I where out for a tour today and headed down into Glencoe. We skied up and down the munro which has the ski hill on it (the original Scottish ski area). We where able to skin from a little way above the car park although it was only thin cover on heather. Higher up the mountain it was pretty good with the fresh snow from the last couple of days it made for a good descent. Lots of people where out using the lifts and making the most of some pretty good piste conditions. The sun was out giving some great views around Glen Coe and Rannoch Mor. It looks pretty white although the ground was not frozen until a long way up the mountain and even then it will only have been frozen where exposed to the wind, plenty of riming on the rocks around the summit area. It looks as though it should be a nice day ahead looking at the weather.
