Coire an Sneachtda in the Northern Cairngorms |
Pitches through mixed terrain |
Awkward thrutch |
I headed off with the two Pauls for a trip to the East for yet more sunshine and to have a look at some varied easy pitches along the flanks of the fiachail Ridge. It was a nice day and the snow was bullet hard this morning. We looked at various pitches and types of anchors and also retreating with some simple abseils and also lowers to get out of trouble. Including the weekend prior to me getting there and the last couple of days with me the two Pauls where also quite keen for a shorter walk in.
There where a few teams out in various areas and plenty of people going to a fro between the tops on the plateux, there where also a few skiers coming down from windy col which by the sounds of things was a little scrapey !
